Introduction
Before the thrill of the shot…
Before the smile after hitting the target…
There’s one thing that matters above all else:
👉 Safety.
At Mabali Sports Shooting Club, we’ve welcomed thousands of guests — from excited first-timers to returning enthusiasts — and we’ve made this clear from day one:
“You’re not just here to shoot. You’re here to shoot responsibly.”
Here’s the 6-step safety protocol we follow before anyone pulls the trigger — and why we never skip a step.
Step 1: Briefing Before Bullets
Every guest — no matter how experienced — begins with a short safety briefing.
We walk through:
- How to hold the weapon
- What NOT to do (e.g. never point at someone)
- The importance of finger discipline (off the trigger until ready)
Safety isn’t just an instruction — it’s the culture of our range.
Step 2: Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Before stepping into the range, we gear up our guests with:
- Ear protection (especially important for 9mm)
- Eye protection (against casing or debris)
And yes — we sanitize every piece after use.
Step 3: Physical & Emotional Check
We always ask:
- Are you feeling nervous or anxious?
- Any medical condition we should know?
- Have you held a gun before?
This isn’t just paperwork — it’s respecting your comfort level.
We’ve even had guests choose archery or air gun instead if they weren’t ready for a pistol. That’s okay.
You don’t have to prove anything. You just have to feel safe.
Step 4: Weapon Demonstration — Without Ammo
We demonstrate handling with an unloaded weapon first.
Guests learn:
- How to stand (stance & posture)
- How to grip the pistol
- Where to point the muzzle at all times
Only once they’re confident with the dry run — we move to loading live rounds.
Step 5: Instructor-Supervised First Shot
No one fires solo on their first try.
A trained instructor stays:
- Beside or slightly behind the guest
- Giving live corrections
- Ready to intervene instantly if needed
This first shot builds trust — in the system, in the weapon, and most importantly, in yourself.
Step 6: Post-Shot Safety Check & Reset
After each round of shooting:
- We recheck the weapon
- Clear all chambers
- Log every fired round
- And discuss what to improve before the next attempt
It’s not just about pulling the trigger.
It’s about understanding what happened — and what comes next.
💬 Real Feedback
A guest from Lahore once told us:
“I was more nervous about doing it wrong than the shot itself. But the trainer never rushed me. That made all the difference.”
And that’s our goal.
Control over chaos. Calm over rush. Responsibility over hype.
💭 Final Thoughts
We’re in the business of experiences — not accidents.
That’s why our 6-step safety protocol isn’t optional.
It’s how we honor your trust, and how we’ve maintained a 100% accident-free record since launch.
Because behind every photo with a 9mm is a system that keeps it all safe.
